The A vita amatus academy in Oberhausen offers you the further training to the „gerontopsychiatric assistance“. The participants/inside receive by regular participation in the further training and after a passed final examination the Ab-schluss as „gerontopsychiatrischen assistance“.

Training Objective

The participants of the further training acquire, deepen and expand their professional, methodical, social and personal competences for the performance of their tasks in dealing with gerontopsychiatric and psychiatrically ill elderly people. They acquire the competence to ensure professionally adequate care for those in need of care. You will work in a team of nursing professionals and support the care processes of the clients according to current, nursing science and gerontopsychiatric concepts and ensure adequate everyday care for the psychiatrically ill clients.

Target group

Persons with at least two years of professional experience in outpatient or inpatient psychiatric and/or gerontological psychiatric specialty care. Training as a nurse is not a prerequisite for this continuing education, as this continuing education provides basic knowledge in the area of gerontopsychiatric assistance.
